If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.

One of my favorite things in the whole wide world - gardening while listening to an audio book.  Hours pass like minutes.
I am very possessive of my tools - my small rake, shovel, good pruning sheers, gloves, knee pad, and my steady old wheelbarrow.  It's an oldie, but goodie.
The day couldn't have been more perfect, above 70 degrees.  I worked on the flower bed  around the house, with Sally the dog by my side.  She is my 14 year old black lab buddy.  I found some walnuts hidden in the leaves, and realized they may have been stashed by squirrels, which I have seen lately.
The before picture shows that I never cleaned out the beds last fall.   Strangely enough, I like the look of old dead flowers poking up through the snow.
The cleared out bed does look nice, if I say so myself.  Perennials will come up soon.
What a good feeling.  Isn't gardening grand?

You are grand! I remember your beautiful garden and think of it often.

I am loving your blog, sorry I don't comment very often. I do read it!!

Also, the other day I was cleaning out my email and noticed I had replied to your message all those months ago and saved it as a draft - it was a sweet note and I appreciate it!

Happy Spring!
