This beautiful island plantation home was origionally built by the famous author Robert Louis Stevenson. It was turned into a museum by a previous missionary from our church. Sis. Haleck took us around Upolu during our 4 days on the island.

The Bell's, from Smithfield, Utah are in the mission home office in Apia. We had this name trouble at home follow us to our mission. We have to clarify: the "Bell's are in the mission home in Apia, the DaBell's are in the mission home in Pago, Pago." Such confusion.
The AP's Elder Faalogo and Elder Gist took us on a tour of downtown Apia. Even though Elder Faalogo from West Jordan, Utah is Samoan he did not know the language until his mission. Now, after his mission he can return and speak to his father in Samoan. Elder Gist is from Arizona. We laughed as they drove us, Pres. and Sis. Haleck, and Elder Fiso to the airport weaving through traffic, driving so quickly, because we were late. The morning we arrived President drove the very same way.
Sis. Derrick, the mission nurse is an inspiration. As a divorcee she came on this mission by herself, however, she told me that she has the Lord with her. None of her 11 children are active in the church yet they are very supportive of her efforts. She even has trouble with her peripheral vision yet is so happy and delightful to be around.
