Carl Heinrich Bloch's Art Exhibit

Friday, we went for the second time to see Carl Heinrich Bloch: The Master's Hand exhibition at the Brigham Young University Museum of Art. Carl Heinrich Bloch is one of the best-known Danish artist of his time. He was born May 23, 1834 in Copenhagen. His work includes over 250 paintings and 78 etchings in his lifetime. He was commissioned to paint 23 canvases for Frederiksborg Castle depicting the life of Christ. He died of cancer at the age of 55.

This and the other magnificent and inspiring paintings are on display until May 7. A BYU documentary on Carl Bloch will be shown on BYUTV February 20 and 27. I can't wait to see it.
