Salads and such

Because it was difficult to get fresh lettuce in Samoa, I have been making salads like crazy since we got home. My favorites have iceberg and romaine lettuce, broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, snow peas, mangoes or strawberries. The guys like to add sunflower seeds on top.

Instead of tossing them, I cut everything first, tear the lettuce (don't cut), and layer them from the bottom to the top.
I couldn't resist adding a fruit bowl. Strawberries are in season, and they are scrumptious.
My sweet sister-in-law Annette, gave me the recipe for the best home-made Ranch Dressing.
Ranch Dressing

4 oz. of buttermilk

4 oz. cream cheese

3/4 cup of mayonnaise

1 tsp. each: onion salt, garlic salt, pepper, and MSG (Accent)

Mix in a blender.

It is delicious.

Cute Jean! I talked to Meg the other day and told her that I often look at your blog but then i thought I need to comment more so that you knew I did. I loved hearing your talk at your homecoming but I have not been able to see you and catch up with since you have been home. I told Meg I need to stop by and visit with you and Dan. I would love to hear more about your mission. What a sweet, darling mom you are! The salad looks delicious, I am on my way over now!! -Lindsay
