Carriers and Carolers

Elder Chynoweth helped me get the mail from our car. We sent 400 pounds of treats and sweets to the missionaires, from their families, over to Upolu and Savai'i, the week before Christmas.

It took a lot of hands to get the mail from the post office, re-packaged to be sent on airplanes to the rest of the mission.
Elders Sims, Chynoweth, and McEwen show off their letter. The mail gets everyone excited.

They laughed because Elder DaBell is almost as tall as the missionaires. Not visible is the 12 inch step he is standing on.

It was difficult to be away from our family at Christmas. We had a great experience which helped us "feel" Christmas; carolers from young women/young men caroled to US.

They sang Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian), Manuia Kerisimasi (Samoan), and traditional songs accompanied by a ukulele. The harmony was incredible.

They traveled by bus.

I was left holding the treats; coconut, pineapple, oranges, apples, and a fruit I have never seen. Maybe it was a sasalapa.

Now that is a lot of mail!! Wow, I bet it kept you busy. We sure miss you. Peter told me tonight that Sundays are his favorite day because he gets to talk to G-ma Jean. Love you!
